The Location Of Baba Harbhajan Mandir<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Situated between Jelepla and Nathula, at an elevation of 13, 123 feet, Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir or Baba Mandir is located 52 km away from Sikkim. The temple is covered on the way to visit Nathula Pass and Tsongmo Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Story Of Baba Harbhajan Singh<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The mandir is dedicated to the unparalleled\nvalour of Harbhajan Singh, a Sentry from Indian Army\u2019s Punjab Regiment. He was\nposted there with the border patrol force, near the China border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October 1968, the news of his sudden\ndisappearance rang across. Many opined that while escorting the provisions\ncarriage, he fell into a stream and drowned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a few days of his disappearance, it\nis said that he appeared in the dream of one of the colleagues and asked him to\nmake a memorial in his name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sentries built Samadhi as per his\nwishes, following which the temple was erected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baba Harbhajan Singh may not live anymore,\nbut since that time till today, it is believed that his spirit is still living\nand protecting the border as well as his colleagues at the rugged terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On many accounts, it has been said that\nChinese soldiers across the border have witnessed a turbaned sentry who is\nconducted rounds in the night. It is from that incident; the people believe\nthat the spirit of Harbhajan Singh comes every night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
